Photographers new to lighting are often befuddled by what they are seeing, not quite appreciating how to work with different light sources (natural or artificial) to get beautiful and dependable results. Knowing how can be life-changing.
On Saturday of this two-part workshop, we will work solely with natural light, something available to every photographer. We will explore how to manipulate and/or enhance light using only fill cards and other techniques for a beautiful effect. On Sunday, we will explore working with a strobe light (flash), modifiers, fill cards and also how to blend strobe light with daylight. Included in this mini-workshop will be tips on how to work with your subject, such as how to put a person at ease during a portrait session.
This workshop is designed for photographers who have proficient working knowledge of camera operations using manual settings, especially understanding of exposure utilizing aperture and shutterspeed. Participants are strongly encouraged to become familiar with the basics of how their particular camera works with/connects to flash/strobe prior to the workshop, as there will be limited opportunity to address the specifics of each individual's camera during the session.
