Learn to capture the beauty of seasonal bounties, home-baked goods, delicious meals, and more in this introductory workshop focused on natural-light food photography. Through hands-on demonstration and group activity, participants will be guided through various natural lighting approaches, considerations of camera angles and settings, basic styling techniques, background and prop selections, and tools of the trade. Participants will leave with the confidence and knowledge to create a foundational food photography shoot using natural light.

This workshop is designed for photographers who have a solid understanding of how to use their digital camera on the manual setting, and how to properly expose a natural light photograph using aperture and shutter speed.

What to Bring:

  • Your Digital SLR camera (or equivalent, such as a mirrorless) and a tripod
  • Students may (if desired) also bring small props or food items to include in the styling (note: a kitchen will not be provided, so anything brought must be shelf-stable)
